One-Time Financial Plan
You don't need an ongoing financial advisor to benefit from comprehensive financial planning.
The One-Time Financial Plan is for people who want an experienced advisor to look at the whole picture, identify opportunities, work through important decisions, and give them a clear path forward — without committing to an ongoing relationship.
Starting at $3,500
A one-time planning engagement can be a good fit when your financial life has become more complicated, but you still prefer to handle the implementation yourself.
You may be:
The goal isn't to tell you what to do with every dollar.
It's to help you understand what matters most, what your options are, and what you should do next.
Good financial decisions rarely happen in isolation.
A decision about a business distribution can affect your taxes and investment strategy. An equity-compensation decision can affect cash flow, taxes, and long-term wealth. A retirement contribution can have implications for both your current tax bill and future income.
That's why we look at your financial life as a connected system rather than reviewing one account at a time.
Depending on your situation, your plan may include:

We don't assume every client needs everything above. The plan is built around your questions, your circumstances, and the decisions in front of you.
We begin with a 30-minute introductory call.
We'll talk about what's happening in your financial life, what prompted you to reach out, and what you're hoping to accomplish.
There are no documents to prepare and no homework for the first call. It's simply a conversation to see whether working together makes sense.
If we decide to move forward, we'll gather the information needed to understand your financial situation.
We'll organize your accounts, income, cash flow, investments, insurance, tax information, and other relevant details in RightCapital.
The goal is to get everything in one place so we can see how the pieces fit together.
This is where the planning work happens.
I'll analyze your financial picture, identify opportunities and potential gaps, evaluate trade-offs, and develop recommendations based on your goals and circumstances.
I'll also organize the key issues so our plan presentation focuses on the decisions that matter most.
We'll meet for a dedicated plan presentation.
Rather than handing you a report and asking you to figure it out yourself, I'll walk you through the recommendations and explain the reasoning behind them.
We'll use the visuals in RightCapital to make the numbers easier to understand and discuss the trade-offs involved in different decisions.
You should leave the meeting knowing what we recommend, why we recommend it, and what your options are.
At the end of the engagement, we'll agree on a course of action — or identify the decisions that still need more thought.
You'll receive a written summary of the recommendations and action items so you have a clear reference for what comes next.
That might include actions for you to take, questions to bring to your CPA or attorney, or decisions that don't need to be made yet.
What you get
The goal isn't to create a 100-page financial report that gets filed away.
The goal is to give you a clear understanding of your financial picture and a prioritized set of recommendations you can act on.
At the end of the engagement, you'll understand:
You get the advice. You decide how to implement it.
That's up to you.
Some clients take the recommendations and implement everything themselves.
Many decide they would rather have someone in their corner throughout the year.
If you want ongoing financial planning and implementation support, you can continue into Ongoing Planning.
If you also want professional investment management, Wealth Management combines ongoing planning with portfolio management.
You don't have to decide that when you start.
The One-Time Financial Plan can stand on its own.
For many people, the most important financial decisions have little to do with picking investments.
They involve questions like:
These are the kinds of questions the One-Time Financial Plan is designed to help you answer.
Common Questions
No. The One-Time Financial Plan is a planning engagement. You can implement the recommendations yourself and keep your existing investment relationships.
The plan primarily lives in RightCapital, where we organize and analyze your financial picture. We'll review the recommendations together during your plan presentation, and you'll receive a written summary of the key recommendations and action items afterward.
The goal is clarity and action — not a thick report.
Yes. Tax considerations are an important part of many financial decisions. We can identify tax-planning opportunities and coordinate with your CPA when appropriate. Licata Financial Design does not provide tax preparation or legal services.
The timing depends on the complexity of your situation and how quickly we receive the information needed for the analysis. We'll establish the expected timeline when we begin.
You can transition to Ongoing Planning or Wealth Management after completing the One-Time Financial Plan. There's no requirement to make that decision upfront.
$3,500 is the starting price. More complex planning engagements may have a higher fee based on the scope of work. We'll agree on the specific fee before beginning.
